Our Vision

Columbus Next Generation LLC (“NextGen”) will catalyze opportunities that will ultimately transform Columbus, Ohio communities in to vibrant and productive places to live, work and learn that are desirable by both residents and businesses.

Our Mission

Identify and facilitate development or re-development of properties in core neighborhoods that have the potential to thrive.  We accomplish this by identifying underutilized land and properties, securing control of the property, creating a master plan for the properties, feasibility studies and soliciting local community input and support.  These projects are then positioned for engagement with developers to complete the development and construction process.  Our targeted area are those properties in the 1950 boundaries of the City of Columbus with an emphasis on the following neighborhoods as directed by Columbus Mayor, Andrew J. Funding comes primarily from the City of Columbus and the City has asked the NextGen Board of Directors to evaluate the current structure and funding model and develop a growth model so the organization can scale to meet new challenges and opportunities.

Scope of Request

Next Gen is currently seeking proposals for a skilled consultant with experience in urban planning, redevelopment and organizational structuring to assist the board of Next Gen in developing this new model.

This scope includes:

Review of current staffing model (currently, 2 FT staff)

Stakeholder interviews with Board, City of Columbus including the Mayor’s office, City Council representatives; Department of Development; City Auditor and other staff.

Development of an updated staffing model to meet a growing mission, with flexibility to scale over 18 months. Model to include funding and financial modeling; job titles, brief job descriptions, requirements for qualified staff, salary ranges.

Final deliverable will be a PowerPoint deck representing a full accounting of the research and recommendations.

  • Knowledge of urban real estate development
  • Minimum of three references of previous clients
  • Fee for Service
  • Schedule for deliverable

Proposal Budget: Not to Exceed $35,000
